Aurora.Luxe, Technical Expertise and Specifications for a Silk Clothing Store

Challenge

Aurora.Luxe is an online store of premium natural-silk clothing for women, men and children, built on WordPress and WooCommerce. The site exchanges data with 1C: products come from 1C, and orders go back. Development was done by another team, and the owner needed someone on their side to judge the work technically and to describe new work precisely.

My Part

I provided technical expertise and helped accept the other team's work: checking what had been delivered against what had been asked for before it was signed off. I also wrote the technical specifications for new work, among them the specification for a logging system.

The Logging Specification

The exchange with 1C runs through XML files: one full sync a day and two incremental ones. When a sync failed, nobody could see why. Products were created or updated incorrectly, orders did not always reach 1C, nobody responsible was alerted, and finding the cause meant pulling in developers for manual analysis.

The specification describes a logging module for the existing exchange plugin. It logs every stage of the exchange with a session ID and five severity levels, keeps the original XML files, and adds admin pages for logs, exchange files and settings, with filters, search and a detail view. It sets retention periods with automatic cleanup, shows how much space logs take, and sends chat and email alerts above a chosen severity. It also lists the non-functional requirements, the stages of work and the acceptance criteria, so the result can be checked point by point.
